ENTERING A NEW LAND - Lessons For us From Joshua,
 by Terry Somerville

1.  There is a change of mandate.
In the wilderness the people were to gather in a "congregation" under the cloud and the fire. Now there was a mandate  to co-operatively take the land, scatter, settle and occupy. We need to understand we are moving from "congregating to enjoy Gods presence" to "conquering a land in Gods presence!"

2. There is a change of leadership.
God caused this to happen at the right moment. Moses was dead. Now Joshua and Caleb led the people. Note: they were the OLD GENERATION THAT WAS FAITHFUL .  Watch for it today.  Take note when senior leaders pass from the scene, but remember, a faithful few with Kingdom vision, will be left to lead.

3. There is a change of generation
Those entering the land  were not born in Egypt, and knew nothing about the things man built! Today a new generation is rising that does not love "Egypt". They don't care for organizations and programs and all the man made trappings of "church". They want God!  They were born under the pillar of cloud and fire, and thats all that counts!

4. There is a new baptism and a new circumcision
Crossing the Jordan River is a baptism into nation conquering power.  But it comes at a price. All who were born under the cloud must experience a circumcision to be rid of "the reproach of Egypt." This can only mean a clean cutting away of those influences of Egypt that were passed down to them. Are you willing to be done with the "church that man built", and pay the costs to enter the land?

5. There is a change of heavens power.
In the wilderness the people of God experienced the "presence" of the fire and the cloud. In the promised land they experienced the presence of the "commander of the armies of the Lord" and new supernatural ability to conquer the enemies. Today God wants to transition His people from "cloud and fire" to nation conquering power. We must understand THEY BOTH SHOW FORTH THE GLORY OF THE LORD.

6. There is a Change of Provision
In the wilderness the manna was a miraculous food.  It was replaced by the produce of a conquered land. Today we wait for the "wealth of the wicked to come into the hands of the righteous" that has bee prophesied. Many are wondering why it has not happened yet.  Here are two important reasons.
      a) It will not come to the old "church in the wilderness".  The "Egypt style church" has no inheritance in this.
      b) The wealth comes to those who cross the Jordan, are circumcised. Willing to leave behind the familiar.
      c) The wealth is obtained when taking the Kingdom into the world, it is not released inside the church walls.
