KINGDOM OF GOD >>

Jesus uses various figures to explain the Kingdom of God. In Matthew 13 he speaks of seed as being the word of God and later as being the sons of the Kingdom.  He also says  the field is the world,(vs 38)  and the hearts of men.(vs 19)  The two sowers are the son of man and the devil. From this we can learn several features of how kingdoms develop.

1. Words Carry the Life and Power of  A Kingdom

Jesus says that the "word of the Kingdom" is a seed.  A word  is planted when it is heard. Seeds have life in themselves, all they need is good ground to grow in. Similarly, like a seed, spoken words carry the spiritual power of life and death. (Proverbs 18:21)  The seed of God's word carries God's life in it, and the words of the Kingdom of darkness carry death. When  the words of any kingdom  any are heard and believed, they are planted in the heart and grows and produces fruit. This is how a  kingdom begins to be  established, whether its the kingdom of God, or of man, or darkness.

Luke 8:15  But that which fell on the good ground, these are such who when they heard the word, with a noble and good heart, hold on to it and bear fruit with endurance

Truth and Lies The chief character of the word of God is that it is "the word of truth." It always produces life. The devil is a liar, and his word establishes a kingdom by deception. When believe the lies they become part of the darkness and produce the fruits thereof.

John 8:44  "You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of lies."

We easily see these kingdom  principles at work in politics and the news media. If people are told  a lie  long enough they believe it. The culture shifts accordingly. We see  a Kingdom being established or changed.

2. Declarations and Agreement Establishes A Kingdoms

Rom 10:9  "...because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved..."

A Kingdom cannot be established without agreement from people. A word has life in itself but cannot grow until it  germinates. The heart and mind of man is the soil that receives a word.  Spoken agreement with a word brings forth the life of the word in a person. For example, when we believe the gospel we believe from the heart, and agree verbally. God's life begins in us and the Kingdom of God is established in our heart. Our behavior changes and God's Kingdom lifestyle affects our home and work.

The kingdom of darkness cannot operate without agreement with the lies of the enemy. Even when a dictator oppresses people, there must be an army that operates in agreement with him. It is always based on many lies, fear, greed and excusing sin of all kinds.  Once in a while we witness a political coup, where the lie is replaced, usually by a new lie, and the army forces a change.

Declarations

As kingdoms of the world and the kingdom of darkness are established,  they require all kinds of declarations. This ensures that the seed of that kingdom is continually established. The agreement with the words of that kingdom become institutionalized. Oaths, pledges, sworn agreements and declarations are sure signs that a strong kingdom of some kind is in place.  In regards to this Jesus said

Mat 5:37  "But let your Yes, be yes; and your No, be no. Any more than this comes from evil."

Prophetic Words
In the Kingdom of God, prophetic words and "praying the bible" are ways of declaring Kingdom of God words. But we must NEVER swear oaths or pledges to Christian institutions. That would begin to establish the institution as a kingdom of it's own demanding our allegiance.

3.  Maintaining Kingdoms By Reinforcement

Once  a kingdom is established, it requires regular reinforcement. The Kingdom of God is reinforced through Gods love. We need to experience it and participate in it. The Kingdom of darkness is reinforced  by experiencing hate and any other form of death.   In Ephesians 3:17 we see God's seed (which is Christ - He is the word of God) growing in our hearts through love.

Eph 3:17  "...that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love..."

1John 2:5  "But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of God is perfected. By this we know that we are in Him."

Festivals and Celebrations are one way that Kingdoms are regularly reinforced.   Jesus desire for us is to  gather together for "love feasts" , the true ideal of the Lord's supper. Here, an ordinary meal as God's children in His presence reinforces His Kingdom.

1Co 11:26  "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye proclaim the Lord's death till he come."

In the Kingdom of darkness, pagan festivals reinforce the darkness. For example, the Mardi Gras, in New Orleans, reinforces the darkness over the city through repeated debauchery and rituals. Idolatry and debauchery is part of the "celebration."  In more mundane ways, any people experiencing recurring  crime, hatred and death all reinforce the lies Satan has sown into the hearts of people. Satan establishes his Kingdom by lies. He keeps his kingdom by  reinforcing the lies through violation of all kinds.

God establishes His Kingdom by truth. He keeps His Kingdom by love

4. Kingdoms Establish  A Ruling City

As  a Kingdom grows  it will always establish a ruling city.  Declarations from that capital city ALWAYS constitute the  authority of the kingdom. Until I understood this I was always puzzled by war stories.  I  wondered why a country was considered to be conquered when it's capital city fell, even if 90% of the country was still free?  Why, I would ask, doesn't the government just work from another city? It is because kingdoms all have a capitol from which to rule. When the capital falls, so does the kingdom.

In the old testament, the ruling city of the Kingdom of God is Jerusalem. The  ruling city of darkness is Babylon. This is why such issues surround these cities today. But these cities are shadows and types of the true spiritual Kingdom. The New Jerusalem is the city we look to, while the kingdom of darkness is  Mystery Babylon, the mother of harlots and abominations.

Rev 21:2  And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven of God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Where On Earth Does Christ The King Rule?

Every Kingdom requires a ruling city. But the Kingdom of God is fundamentally different. God does not dwell on earth in a temple made with hands, but in the hearts of men and women.  His ruling city IS the Bride of Christ.  Us  The Bride is making herself ready. His city IS coming down from heaven. There are all sorts of cataclysmic events to come, it's true, but one thing is for sure. God's Kingdom will ultimately overtake all others.

Rev 11:15

And the seventh angel sounded;
and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said,
The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our Lord,

and of his Christ: and he shall reign for ever and ever.
