Campbell River Churches - A covenant Of Blessing

John 13:34, "As I have loved you, love one another."

In building relationship with the Lord, our vision is also to build relationship with one another as His body. This creates the conditions where God will move in REVIVAL

God has one church that is made up of individual local churches. Together we make up Christ’s body in our city. We affirm the uniqueness and value of each church.

We purpose to interrelate with the whole body, both in our city and further afield. As we build relationship and work together, we will see the full expression of God’s purpose for our city and land.

A. COVENANT OF FORGIVENESS

Jesus said "Offences will come."

1Jo 2:10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and in it there is no cause for stumbling (offence) (RSV)

Mr 11:25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any one; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses." (RSV)

Col 3:13 forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. (RSV)

We affirm that without the grace of Jesus Christ, there is none righteous, no not one.

We recognize we will always stumble with one another and must forgive as God has forgiven us`.

We covenant together to continuously forgive one another, and repent for the sin of unforgiveness.

If we recognize that we have taken offence, we will lay it at the cross and choose to love and forgive.

B . COVENANT TO REFRAIN FROM EVIL TALK

Jas 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, [and] able also to bridle the whole body. (AV)

Jas 3:9 With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brethren, this ought not to be so. (RSV)

Tit 3:2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all men. (RSV)

We Repent of criticizing, comparing and complaining about any part of the Body of Christ.

We Covenant, to refrain from undermining the work of the Lord by speaking negatively about Christians or Churches.

We Covenant to deal with sin and error in the Body of Christ by using the Biblical model. Mt 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

 C. COVENANT TO BLESS ONE ANOTHER

Ro 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. (AV)

1Pe 3:8 Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love of the brethren, a tender heart and a humble mind. 9 Do not return evil for evil or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary bless, for to this you have been called, that you may obtain a blessing. (RSV)

Mt 18:18 Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (RSV)

2Co 9:8 And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work. (RSV)

We repent of doubting God's desire to pour out his blessings on the church, and our failure to loose them by blessing one another.

We covenant to proclaim, by faith, His blessings over one another, releasing God's provisions and power for His church in Campbell River.

We covenant to build and protect unity in the body of Christ, in Campbell River by blessing one another.
